7 Step Process
Our 7-step dry application process provides the best results for erosion control. This process is effective because the seed is spread over an area in an even and consistent pattern. It is also effective because it allows seed to soil contact. These two important features yield a ninety five percent germination rate in ideal conditions verses seventy five percent by other methods.
This process starts by preparing the soil. Disking breaks the crust of the soil, creating easier access of water, nutrients and air to the roots.
The Raking process continues loosening up the soil, breaking up any large fragments left behind into small particles. Due to aeration, which loosens the soil, it is ready to receive the seed.
The Seed and Fertilizer are combined in the cyclone spreader. This important step provides for an even and consistent coverage over the area to be seeded.
Cultipacting drives the seed down into the soil. This ensures great seed to soil contact resulting in a ninety five percent germination rate.
A layer of Straw is blown on to the slopes providing a cover of protection for the seed during the germination process.
The final step in this process is the Hydro-Mulch that covers the seed. The guar gum and paper mulch material helps to hold the seed in place minimizing the possibilities of seed and soil run-off through germination.
